Design Team layouts and more...

photoshop....

So I have been trying out some things in photoshop....trying to teach myself what it can do for my photos....All of my photos are SOOC (which means straight out of the camera).  I never photoshop them.  I try to shoot the photo with the correct settings and lighting to capture what I want. 

Here are a few photos from last week and from an earlier post of Tori...here is what I did with them in photoshop...just playing around....

The sun was setting and gave this orange glow to the photos.

Can't remember what I did to this but went with the black and white...and played around with the effects and this is what I got....I kinda like the look.

While my sister was here visiting a week ago we headed up to Sarasota for a photo shoot....here are a few photos to share.

this is my niece Riley...she is six years old going on 16...

This is my nephew Austin...he is 11 years old...a sweet quiet soul...

and this is my niece Bailee...welcome the preteen years...

I love this shot....them being themselves...my sister was trying to get them to smile and this is what we got...laughter.

Happy Mail....

Today was good mail day....

Got this in the mail...

Tamron Auto focus 28-75mm f2.8 lens.  This lens was recommanded to me by Karen Russell.  I can't wait to try it out. If you want more info about the lens Check it out here.

Also got my July Studio Calico kit in the mail today.  Boy was I happy to see the UPS guy today...they both were placed on my door step together....can't wait to play with this kit tonight.

On line class....

I started my on line Photography class last week with Candice Stringham at Jessica Spargue's site.  I am loving it....and I am learning so much.  Last weeks assignment was about Shutter Speed... here is my sample from last weeks assignment...

I actually love how the blurred photo turned out...can't wait to scrap that one. 

This weeks assignment is about apertures...Love using the AV setting on my camera....have it set there most of the time.

   

Of course my subject (my son) was having a little fun....loves to do this to me.  Little does he know that I love seeing the many faces of him being him...and I already have a scrapbook layout in mind for these silly shots.

I also got a few shots of Tori for this assignment....I only got the f1.8 shot with the blurred background.  I was losing the light so I was not able to get the f16 shot...but I love how these turned out so I had to share. These are straight out of the camera.

Toby Keith anyone....

There is something about a guy in blue jeans that turns me on....I spent Saturday evening with Toby Keith....at his concert that is. A girlfriend of mine had a extra ticket in  the VIP section....I found out Friday night that the ticket was available and to top it off it was free.  I had the best time he was incredible...I danced to my feet hurt. Just gotta love a cowboy in jeans, a cowboy hat and boots....

Forgot to mention that Montgomery Gentry was there too...

   

A little info about this photo...this is my sons teacher...she won tickets to the concert from the local Country radio station....and guess what???? She got to meet Toby Keith and get a photo with him....I was so jealous.

shopping....

something to pass the time....Love shopping on line....just sit in you PJ's and shop, shop, shop....

From supplies to classes...this is what I have done.....

• signed up for some new classes over at Kim Archer Workshops @ Home...I will doing This class..."Beyond the Scenes" and This one..."Kid's Play".  As most of you know I love her classes and she has some really cool ones up right now.
• Picked up a Martha Stewart border punch today at Michaels with a 50% off coupon and got the Making Memories Carousel this week with 50% off...it was only $20.00 .  I have been wanting this for my scrapbook desk and I finally found a Michaels that had it in stock.
• Studio Calico, one of my favorite on line kit clubs had their reveal night, a new kit is revealed on the 28th of each month....they are also celebrating their first Birthday....so I had to buy an add-on. I had the hardest time deciding which one to get....Paris, Venice, Tokyo, Stockholm, and London..... what is a girl to do...I went with Paris. This months theme is travel...Via Airmail...love that.
• Also splurged on some camera equipment...I have been wanting to add a Flash to my collection....I went with theCanon 430 XE Flash...should be here this week.
