Sugarland and Kellie Pickler....

One of Chelsea's birthday gifts was tickets to see Sugarland in concert.....It was amazing.  Kellie Pickler was adorable and Sugarland was so entertaining...loved every song.  They happen to be my favorite band....Chelsea had a great time....when Sugarland sang "Stay"  Chelsea had tears in her eyes.  That is the song she will be singing in a couple of weeks at the High School Idol top 10 competition.....

High School Idol....

So as most of you know Chelsea is the singer in the family...in Sarasota County they have a singing competition called 'High School Idol"  similar to American Idol...except there is no Simon....

Anyway...when Chelsea was a Freshman she competed in High school Idol and made it to the top five.  She was the only freshman to make it that far...of course I was so proud of her.

Well she decided to enter again for her senior year and she has made it into the top Ten.  This time around she has chose to sing country...which she loves and has a great voice for.  She will be singing "Stay" by Sugarland....

Here she is with her good friend Ethan Mix (no it is not Corbin Bleu from High School Musical... I know he looks a lot like him) who will be playing the guitar for her while she sings in the competition.  He and a few of her friends were over Saturday night and they decided to put on a little show and get some practice in.  I have to say it sounded great....of course I am her mother and I would say that. 

The top Ten perform on Nov. 24, 2008...we are looking forward to it and hoping she will make it into the top five again...I will keep you posted...

Also wanted to share a group shot of the crazy Seniors I had hanging out at my house Saturday night...I love it that let me hang around with them and that they all call me "Mom"....I will miss these days when they all graduate and head off to college.

Toby Keith anyone....

There is something about a guy in blue jeans that turns me on....I spent Saturday evening with Toby Keith....at his concert that is. A girlfriend of mine had a extra ticket in  the VIP section....I found out Friday night that the ticket was available and to top it off it was free.  I had the best time he was incredible...I danced to my feet hurt. Just gotta love a cowboy in jeans, a cowboy hat and boots....

Forgot to mention that Montgomery Gentry was there too...

   

A little info about this photo...this is my sons teacher...she won tickets to the concert from the local Country radio station....and guess what???? She got to meet Toby Keith and get a photo with him....I was so jealous.

Take me out to the ball game....

and three graduation parties....busy day for the Bolyard's.  Last night was Venice Highs Graduation....and today we have three parties to attend and then we are off to the Rays game against the white Sox's.  Best part is after the game Trace Atkins will be having a concert....Chelsea and I are the only ones  excited about that part....we love country music.  Gary on the other hand could care less...on another note....

SCHOOL"S OUT FOR SUMMER!!! said while singing it to the tune from Alice Cooper.... can you hear me singing it.....anyone remember that song??? My kids are out of school.  Chelsea is offically a Senior....OMG!!! I cannot believe that.   Only one more year with her and I know this year will fly by.  She is busy applying to colleges and getting things in order to start the next chapter of her life.  Just yesterday she was in my arms for the first time....so now that I am all emtional I am going to sign off.  So hope everyone is having a great weekend....off to party #1.
