Here is the April Photogaphy Challenge at K2 Scrapbook Studio this month....
This month I want to share with you some info about Depth of Field and Bokeh Blur....we had a challenge a while back the dealt with depth of field, it was the flower challenge and I had you take a photo where the focus was on the flower and background was blurred.
This month I would like you take a photo where the background has a bokeh blur....what is that you ask.....well here is an explanation of that and a photo I recently took with a bokeh blur....
In photography, bokeh is the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur, in out-of-focus areas of an image, or "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light."Differences in lens aberrations and aperture shape cause some lens designs to blur the image in a way that is pleasing to the eye, while others produce blurring that is unpleasant or distracting— "good" or "bad" bokeh, respectively.Bokeh occurs for parts of the scene that lie outside the depth of field. Photographers sometimes deliberately use a shallow focus technique to create images with prominent out-of-focus regions.
Bokeh is often most visible around small background highlights, such as specular reflections and light sources, which is why it often associated with such areas.
It simple terms try to take a photo of someone or something where the background is blurred...but this time try to capture light in the back ground that would give you the bokeh blur...which makes it look like circles of light...here is an example...
as you can see here the blur in the background where there is light forms beautiful circles of light....that is what I challenge you to do this month...
here is another example...this one of course is more obvious...love the interest is adds to the photo....have fun and I cannot wait to see what you come up with...
